As we all know the hurricane Irma touched down in the florida keys as well as a lot of southwest Florida. We are very sad for Key West as well as much of Boca Grande and were very fortunate here in Boca Grande that the storm spared many of our homes and property.
This storm has many fish displaced currently but we hope it will give the backcountry water the good cleansing it needs. We will be looking forward to schooled spawning Redfish along with big Jacks and Bonito on the outside and blind casting the edges of the tannic water for Snook. Tailing Redfish season on low water will heat up as the water temperatures cool in the coming weeks. The small Tarpon are displaced at the moment but will fish well for the following months. The winds have subsided and make for great morning and afternoon fishing. We have openings here starting in October and look forward to seeing new faces along with returning anglers!
